Day 29: Public Holidays

Day 29: Public Holidays

Today is a public holiday in the UK—hurrah!

One of my American Power Hour writers always asks, “My god is it another public holiday?” whenever I have to cancel a writing sesh and it makes me laugh because YES—in the UK we have loads of public holidays and believe in having at least 4-8 weeks paid leave a year.

I had the chance to work for an American company once, when I was muuuuuch younger, and the thing that put me off was the amount of paid annual leave… two freaking weeks.

Absolutely not.

So ya, I love my public holidays. Extra time to not hustle, to not work, to do, in fact, whatever the hell I want to do.

The more the better—and the more holidays we have, the more good work we can do.

So that’s what came out of my brain when I saw this prompt. Your turn!

Then book yourself a mini-virtual-writing break and join us at the next Write Night on Thursday September 1.

Four hours of uninterrupted writing bliss—ahhhhhh! Book your seat here.

Happy writing!

TTFN,

Vicky
