I defy you not to jump around the room while this song is playing.
Then, once you’ve stopped pogo-ing, sit down and watch the video… because it’s hilarious.
I can’t believe I’ve never seen this music video, but it has it all: random cameos from Tenacious D, and a universe filled with Dave Grohl, in which Dave Grohl is flirting with Dave Grohl…
Let the music teach you to fly – and while you’re soaring, I’ve a little nugget for you that just might help you take dodgy days from bad to better.
You know how when you’ve got something booked into your day that you just don’t want to do?
And it burrows its way into your brain and whispers, “You’ve got to do this. Your day won’t be enjoyable until it’s done. You’re just killing time until you do what you gotta do, then you can relax.”
Annoying, isn’t it? And demotivating, depressing, and stressful.
Here’s my trick: I reframe the whole thing. I simply decide I’m going to enjoy myself.
I tell myself I’m going to enjoy myself, and keep doing so until myself believes me.
Half the time, I’m dreading the thing because I’m nervous – and here’s the thing about nerves. You body has the same physical reaction to being nervous as to being excited.
If you’re nervous, you’re halfway to excited, you just need a little extra push.
So listen to today’s tune and reframe any negative impressions if you can.
And if you’re dreading something because you’re stuck or you don’t know where to start, let’s do something about that.
